If you're looking for some variation, consider the various Dark Ambient labels on YouTube. It's become my go to music as I've gotten older; I pretty much can't listen to music with vocals anymore.

I believe Stephen King said something along the lines of "Good ideas stick around." I've come to treat it as gospel. Any idea that nags at me over days/weeks/months tends to be worth pursuing.

Long term outlooks work provided you scale the resolution, contrast etc... proportionally. This is how I identify the forest from the trees.
