What format would you rather the model be saved in? ONNX is the most cross platform and standard as far as I know, and it's also what we use internally. It's not like a PE format which is compiled from something else higher level.

There's no Android GC, there's a Java GC. Python on Android isn't written in Java, it's CPython, written in C. Python has a GC as well, but we turn it off for the control loop processes. https://github.com

Not really. It's mostly subjective, but a good metric is time between user action needed. We did 2 hours of press demos on highways without a single one. (usually it's about an hour) In addition to us, we have a community of users

We don't plan on writing a nav app, the plan is just to improve the location fix at the system level and work with all nav apps.

Improved localization / nav is one of the goals of chffr. Through panda, we can use the car sensors for dead reckoning. Combined with the phone camera, we can get and keep a really precise location fix.
