I created something similar to Hyphen at my previous job and while it was a big shift in mentality, implementing UI in the backend and having the apps consume that and render it with native components os really underrated.

Using claude for game design, art design, and coding. I can see you're even using AI to respond to comments in this thread. At that point this is just a game made by AI. It's one thing to lean on AI to cover our blind spots, but i

I really don't think Yakuza games are anything like GTA besides "being in a city". Yakuza has none of the sandbox elements like GTA, the city is more like an elaborate menu to go from mission to mission/side quest/a

I'm not sure who this is for. On one hand multiplayer games are complicated to make, even with a dedicated framework, but on the other the tutorial wastes time explaining to me how to undo with ctrl+z and there's even a large info

This are just dumbed down phones in a sense: I don't want my mp3 player to be running android. I want a minimal piece of software that lets me quickly navigate to the songs that I want, and physical buttons to do it. I've look lon

Not being a rock star but showing potential is great. But there are some people who are allegedly always busy, in over their head, etc. And these are the type of people I agree that should be avoided. I've found that more often than no

This is amazing news. As a long time IntelliJ user (Android dev for 7+ years) who wants to start doing more c++, having free access to Clion is a godsend.

I had trouble believing anything in the article since every sentence or 2 has a link to "the best laptop" or "the best powerbank". Just seems like a hub for a bunch of links to sponsored content.

I used sbt in my previous job and didn't hate it. All I want from build systems is to get out of my way and it let us do that pretty well. Very simple to add new tasks as well.

What service are you using that's 4$/month? I've used the free tier of Render on the past which I enjoyed but the lowest paid plan is 20$/month.

Can confirm that in Montreal there is a permanent version of this card (la carte OPUS) on which you can reload more tickets. There are even semi permanent ones you can buy, which are good for say 1 day, 1 weekend, or contain 10 passes.

Why is v a scam? Genuinely curious, I don't know much about it besides it being a c++ competitor.

Assuming a homogeneous cake, I think you can get around this by cutting the cake in half, and then cutting a line perpendicular to that one. Each person takes 2 pieces that touch each other diagonally, which should in theory give each perso

I've been using the Microsoft Speech api for an app and so far it's been surprisingly very good for realtime speech to text.

Thank you! I feel like all of this Unit test stuff is just a case of Emperor's New Cloths: everyone writes tests, no one knows why but won't admit it. I've never never ever experienced in my life a time where a major problem

Tried it out this morning, and while the UI is nice, the whole thing feels sluggish and unresponsive compared to the native file explorer. I thought it might have to do with indexing so I let it run for a while but it never seemed to get an

I think the title of the video is a bit sensationalist, since the video touches on a couple of minor inconveniences (that can all be fixed by updates), but otherwise I agree with a lot of what was said in the video. So far it doesn't l

Looks neat, but the documentation was hard to follow. A lot of typos, and some things didn't make sense. For example, I think 2 paragraphs were swapped because the example code below the paragraph taking about using square brackets has

I've been looking for an immediate mode GUI library for LibGDX, I might have to write a port of this. I'm struggled many times to get ImGUI working nicely with LibGDX but it's never worked for me.
