Sometimes it makes sense, for consumable goods or even non consumable things like storage containers, where you might buy more of the same item at different times. Other things like books I agree don't make sense.

TLDs matter, in that you want .com if you can get it. Otherwise, personally I would use something more well known, but most of the differences are vanity, unless you're using a country specific TLD such as .co.uk or .us

It's probably just the way my brain works. After a SQL statement goes to more than ten lines or so I have to study it very hard to understand what's going on. Maybe it's the way I was taught.

Yes, for me SQL is very hard to reason about just because of the way it's "phrased" It's much easier for me to interpret JavaScript or PHP method chaining. I find myself struggling when I can't use an ORM.
