I really have no problem viewing him as both a hero and traitor at the same time. I am not sure why we struggle so much with that idea given the complexity of the situation.

Haha spot on. My hang out was this broken slide at an abandon playground. Or you could climb on the metal bar in the overgrown weeds. There is just no way I would be doing that in 2023 as a kid. It was fun at the time because the alternativ

To me, if you watch videos of what amateurs can do with the maneuverability of a $300 racing FPV drone it is most likely those are military drones of some sort. Even a $300 racing drone looks pretty alien if you have never seen one. A $3 mi

I am sure this is just the beginning. The gym I go to is closing shop because I think the rent the commercial property owner has to charge is not worth it to the gym owner but to charge less is not worth it to the property owner. It is goin

The strangest thing about our society is that we have absolutely no problem with dramatizations of killing and murder in movies. Even to the point of having an entire genre of "Horror" movies with a general theme of murder definin

Well you can gain a free GPU hour by rating images. I am pretty sure midjourney is doing some kind of reinforcement learning from human feedback. The 5.1 raw model is simply unbelievable for photo realistic images. There is 4a,4b,4c, 5, 5.1

I think this will be quite successfully marketed as a status symbol. Obviously, it was intentional to create a scenario that there are viral videos of people gasping at the price reveal. I do think this is a revolutionary day but in a total

I would think cigarette smoking is a big variable in the effect too. People living in poverty, uninsured, didn't graduate high school are all variables we know correlate with a higher % of cigarette smoking.

That is a great analogy. That is how I remember it also. More high brow and not something you would really watch for an hour straight. The old CNN was meant to be as "entertaining" as the Weather Channel.

I use to watch Al Jazeera America all the time but it only lasted a few years on TV here. It was totally non-partisan from what I remember. Focused so much on the world outside America too. I would imagine that is exactly why it closed.

I think this is a huge stretch. I would have a hard time even calling it immoral if the whole site vanished tomorrow, without reason. Surely, there is nothing in writing that has been agreed to that Reddit owes anything to the health of com

The article is basically trash. If anything the content of the article is the opposite of the headline. To me, on a 50+ year time frame, the rupee is more interesting than any of the 4 mentioned. I was just thinking yesterday how if 1989 in

It is delusional for sure. The kid that hits puberty is going to figure out a way to watch porn on their phone if they have a phone. The phone has to practically be useless for them to not figure this out. Parents are just in denial because

What we currently know as social media is going to be destroyed and I can't wait. Do you really think it will be difficult for groups of AI to beat the quality of discussion on Twitter or Facebook? lol. The bar is just so incredibly lo

It is even more ridiculous when there are about 3 months of the year when people decorate their front lawn with giant snow men with blinking lights, giant skulls and witches that blink off and on or giant Easter Bunnies and eggs on the fron

IMO this is a bogus perspective. Any culture activity ultimately needs curation or you end up with shit. I am an American that grew up near the border and always listened to Canadian radio because it was so much more diverse musically. The

I would say the most interesting thoughts I have read on this are from Blaise Aguera y Arcas from Google last summer. He believes we basically anthropomorphize each other. He made a great point how every child basically anthropomorphizes a

We don't know what happened. No one would should say they "believe" what happened. It is not a matter of belief. Auto downvoting things like this though at this stage is just absolutely pathetic. Smart, educated people are th

I will believe self driving long haul trucking when I see it. I imagine it is a bit of a pipe dream. When it goes wrong it is going to go horribly wrong, most likely at very high speeds and the liability will all be on the trucking company.

This is 100% obvious and inevitable. I can't imagine what these cars will look like late on a Saturday night once this is normal. Then imagine what they look like after a few years of this. They will be as clean as the local pay by the

That is how it started. People that were really into this would get an ice machine like at a hotel to throw ice in the tub. It is just another fitness gimmick with limited use that most people will get and never use. Most people I know with

It almost strikes me something else is going on. Some kind of group mental illness. I mean Ray Kurzweil's books were best sellers from what I remember 20 years ago. How could one spend their life working to make things in Kurzweil'
