No, in no way. WebAssembly is more a tool to create a library for JavaScript and it is standard unlike ActiveX. It is possible for example to put wasm functions in IndexedDB to use them with multiples apps.

Asm.js was a brillant idea, but wasm is more like a bytecode. This is where is the part from NaCl the author missed. Wasm is derived from asm.js but also an improvement on LLVM to make a portable bytecode, that LLVM is not. One more step in

I suppose they want to use their own UI and maybe link to some services or tools from Mozilla. But they should contact you to unite their effort with your: development time reduced from 3 years to 3 months (that is an approximation)...

If only you have read the article, it is said thay will block popups, video and other annoying ads. These things are the main incentives to install a blocker. It is a smart move, and maybe a late move.

I have used many languages, including Python, and I like JavaScript. It depend of lot of what you want to do with the language. If all the programmers you know are doing the same sort of tasks, such as server side scripts (the goal of Go),

There are sites written entirely in Flash and ActionScript, a platform that is now obsolete. Another attempt was Silverlight and XAML (and JavaScript), dead also. I am not sure the desire to abandon JS is shared by all.

That is irrelevant. On a typed and mostly static language all is 100x easier to compile too.
