I would credit driverless car as a success of Google, imitated by many. They have failure too, fiber for example, and Google Plus. Microsoft had also the big failure of Nokia phones, the results are mixed actually.

The work on that has been discontinued by W3C ( https://www.w3.org/TR/file-system-api/ ), so we have to rely on extensions... It is a useful tool however, it could have saved me a lot of time if available earlier.

You miss the case where Google had produced Android with a different platform (LLVM, Objective-C, or their own language). Since Java was in decline on mobile, it should have just entirely ripped Java from the mobile market.
