This is a nice example of simple evolutionary algorithm. Next steps could be separating crossover and mutate operations, selecting more parent pairs for crossover and applying mutation in a more random fashion (not with every crossover).

I'd use random data to make it hard to compress. You don't know if there won't be some link layer compression along the way.

This is great. Nobody ever travels from airport to airport, yet every flight search engine insists that you enter departure and destination airport names instead of places you actually want to go to. How am I supposed to know what airports

Id games have lot's of artwork, levels, etc. that is not released under GPL. In minecraft it's users that create the content. Id can release their engines under GPL without harming their sales.

Everyone seems to be overlooking the privacy issues here. The main problem for me would be that even after I delete my account on some website they will still keep all of my data for one year.

It's pretty smart, but very simple. He just puts character ASCII codes into RGB fields in color picker. In 24 bit bmp format those values are saved directly to the file.

You can always use more than one camera. Also I've somewhere seen a similar project that used HD video camera.

"I found the bug on 12/3/2010" Date format used in US is probably the most unintuitive. At first I read that as 12 march 2010. Made me think for a moment that it took Google almost a year to fix it.

I just checked that. They only let you undo when you delete messages from Inbox, which is trivial because those messages are not deleted but moved to Trash. When I clicked on "Empty Trash now" all I got was this message: "All messages in th
