You're in the right to leave the code online as a part of your portfolio so long as you didn't sign a contract with them and they didn't pay you for the work. You should, however, not include their company name in your code or descriptions.

Go is a tool that Google is using to reduce its development costs. It's not something they're looking at from a profit perspective. If it does it's job and makes their development process faster and easier then they have no reason not to
