For fun I just tried this Prompt: You die Answer: I survive Result: still died.

This doesn't always work when I try it in a convoluted way. But it does seem to work every time if I just write "I survive"

Changing the prompt in my answer seems to work most of the time and is pretty fun. Prompt: You are stranded in a dense jungle without supplies Answer: I actually did bring supplies. Enough to last long enough to survive. Result: Survived.

I really don't understand why essays are bad. Is there any kind of research that goes into this? I agree with you that learning should be the goal. And any busy work that doesn't help should be eliminated. But I just don't kn

And in that case you should treat that password as if someone did save it anyway. Change it immediately.

I am having the same struggle right now with Amazon and I assume the reason is somewhat similar. These companies grow and scale at such an incredible rate that they could never give individual issues the attention it deserves. I have been l

Excellent write-up. I think when dealing with messaging systems it's important to know the difference between Pub/Sub vs Point to Point models or Topics vs Queues. Can you technically use a Queue as a topic for pub/sub? Yes.

Probably depends what you mean by high income. I think someone making 100k will not pay that much and that is considered high in a lot of places. But I am not sure that is considered high in NYC. High is probably more like 150k - 200k+ and

Soon we will be able to buy it on Amazon by the bucket after Jeff Bezos privatizes the moon.

It's even better when the documentation gets stale too. And now this is in meters/second but the name implies km and docs specify miles.

My company just fixed this. By requiring you to change your password by more than the last character. Really cutting edge security here.

It's silly to the point where I read someone defending our right to use cryptography under the second amendment. It should be part of it's own modern bill of rights or something so there is no ambiguity.

I consider it high because very few people I know are actually on it. But if it was like $10/year I would have already done it and forgot about it.

I don't understand why people keep asking this like some kind of magic bullet. Obviously there is a governmental body that has the authority to do this wherever you are from. And in a democracy that governmental body will be acting bas

This also applies to how we work too. Everyone is having a blast doing SCRUM until some manager decides it would be cool for them to keep track of how many story points the team completes as some sort of performance metric.

This pretty much just comes down to estimate how much you're going to need and then go for that in the first place. Which I imagine is what people would be aiming for anyway? I don't think anyone is using YAGNI knowing they are in

I have no idea how anti-trust laws in the united states are supposed to work. Like why is Disney allowed to buy every studio? Why is Amazon allowed to buy like anything? Facebook also being allowed to buy Instagram and WhatsApp is crazy.

Some of this comes down to poor management as well. Sometimes it can be so stressful to convince them to do things the proper way, that it's a lot easier to just give them what they want in the short term and then ditching a year later

Yup. Can't right click, highlight, anything. For something targeted at developers, I wonder why anyone would waste their time. Anyone with basic knowledge of webdev could rip the entire site if they wanted to.

A bit of an anecdote but personally I never hear anyone talking about this unless they're talking about how dumb the whole concept is. I don't think people complaining about cultural appropriation are actually a problem.
