45 security apps cut the ram and CPU performance in half out of the gate, then you have Win11 with its web gui and users who complain about any slowness so i7 or r7 is about the norm most places / bulk big 3 oems make for business.

I've worked at a bunch of orgs and no one is bothering to look at ram size changes they just note what it's at when they get a call.

This month I reduced my spend on cloud AI and started using local models as primary - it's maybe 2 or 4 times slower for some things but it still is getting the job done just fine. I talked to a friend of mine who's been doing the

I'm going to guess that the agents are built this way on purpose. I just finished watching BlackBerry and Flash of Genius and yeah this is American business ethics just operating as normal.

I'm curious what models you're running and what hardware if you'd be open to sharing that info.

I'm on mobile but the first skill I made was a skill improvement skill. This is basically stating that if the AI struggles in another skill but finds a way that the skill it used needs reworking and it needs to do so. There is a rule t

Ts80p iron is super crazy nice for the price. Heats up really fast and there are a lot of tips out there. I'd say it beats my two soldering stations if you're only doing soldering.

I had the Galaxy Nexus (Samsung) and the Nexus 6. I may have had the Nexus 4 or 5, I dont remember. I had a few HTC phones before that and the DROID by Moto before that as my original smart phone. The DROID was peak - I miss the slide out k

I have my parents and in laws running Moto phones. They hold up well, are well built, just no big flagship phone that I'm drawn to. I like their flat screens, SD cards, headphone jacks, all that good stuff. I think their cameras are ge

It kind of is - when I looked at it 6 months ago it was just a fork of vscode with old ass versions of Claude and the only unique things were java and ibm I mcp clients or servers or something built in. For those works I'd rather just

Website absolutely kills my S21U/Edge phone to view. Shame, this looks super cool. I'll check it out on my laptop later when I have a moment. Price seems enticing too.

IMO they peaked with the Nexus 6 - camera has gotten worse and they make up with it in software or try to. You could and can see this at night or stacked shots in N6 vs pixel 4,5,6. They bought the best phone hardware and software companies

Reminds me of a friend's Geforce FX GPU with some jank 40mm fan that decided it wanted to become a projectile in the middle of the night during a lan party we were having and shoot through the small plexiglass window on his case across

Nice looking phone im seriously interested in but they don't say what US carriers I'd be able to use anywhere I could find which seems odd with the off the shelf chipset.

USB-C is far easier to break than rca plugs in my experience and then you lose data and rapid charging or charging completely if the phone doesn't do wireless. Until phones get repairable like the current generation of laptops where yo

This was before broadband and pocket computers were big so we had to split screen or hot seat multiplayer on the family computer. It was a lot more in person and social and that may have been a big factor.

Absolutely check out his multi part series "it doesn't have to suck" about turning Tucson AZ into a living greenspace city. It's hopeful and inspiring what they are doing there!
