Looking to quit w/o anything lined up. Rejected a few offers before the shit hit the fan. Starting to hate the field and need some time to think.

It’s just life. The ups and downs. There is nothing wrong with you. You are aware of the situation (better than most people) so you just need to change one thing at a time. Literally doing something that you were putting off for 10 minutes

Great advice but I disagree that “most executives aren’t awful”. Leadership is a hard and opaque role. More often than not the wrong people are promoted to management. Poor leadership is the norm, not the exception.

Does anyone really know the impact on productivity? I work for a remote-first company (never had an office) and things move so slow.

Yo. It’s chill. Moved up here from Southern California. I thought people were grinding but they are mostly chilling w/ their cushy office job. Pockets of innovation and fun but otherwise a lot of people working on the same thing.

How does telling your boss you are interviewing help? What does each party gain? The “very worst you’ve done” is not put someone on a long term project. That is detrimental to your direct report’s career if they decide to stay. No one wins.
