I used to work for Airbnb. When I left, I lost a few things like admin settings on the repo but they let me maintain it. Not sure what would happen if they didn’t… Nobody there has the time or context to do anything more than a rubber stamp

Maintainer of Lottie for Android here. Because it’s maintained as a passion project on nights and weekends by a few people. This contribution a rare exception in that it was actually funded and built during work hours at Airbnb. I left Airb

Maintainer of Lottie for Android here. I left Airbnb 5 years ago and have maintained the library 100% on nights and weekends for the past 6 years. I know your comment was sarcasm but fyi ;)

I think that's exactly the problem because of things like this: https://twitter.com/ZacSweers/status/1259176799235387393?s=1... I am the sole maintainer of airbnb/lottie-android despite the fact that I l

We wanted to leverage our existing infra to have a consistent experience between native and RN screens. For example, you want to have the same network cache.

You are comparing the wrong numbers. We had 120,000 lines of RN code but RN only accounted for 10-20% of our mobile engineering.

The vast majority of the 100 always have been and are still Android and iOS devs. React Native never made up more than 10-20% of our mobile engineers and many of them came from Android or iOS backgrounds.

Author of Lottie Android here. The bodymovin to avd plugin is extremely beta and only supports a sublet of after effects features and none of the lottie features such as manually setting progress or dynamic properties.

We have definitely not stopped using React Native! Not sure where you got that impression. We continue to heavily invest in it as well as native platforms and make a case by case decision for all new products.

The performance does definitely depend on the complexity of the animation. Small icons like the hamburger menu, wish list heart, hamburger arrow, etc run at 60fps. Even the main Lottie logo ( http://airbnb.design/lottie/

If there are no masks or mattes, the animation is drawn directly to the canvas and no bitmap allocations are necessary. If there is a matte, an 8 bit bitmap will be created and if there is a mask, a 32 bit bitmap will be created and drawn t

Is there any reason SmartGit doesn't get more love? I've been using it for over a year now and much prefer it over every other git client I've ever used (and I've tried a lot) http://www.syntevo.com/smartgithg/index.html
