OpenAI claims a lot of dubious things. When I read that I immediately think it's a marketing thing and a lie.

Man, american culture on parenting seems insane coming from an European perspective. It's like everyone is legally required to be an obsessive helicopter parent. But I guess it makes sense given the people there walking around in publi

The whole point is to cache frequently used things in RAM so when you open this other thing it loads faster

Unused RAM is wasted RAM. And swap usage is not an issue either unless there's a lot of swap in/out happening.

Yep. I remember Nexus mods removing mods that turns gay characters straight while allowing mods that turn straight characters gay (Cyberpunk). It's super obvious this platform is politically motivated and not motivated to let the user

Keeping a small core team local and outsourcing the bulk of workers, that's exactly what every company I know of seems to do these days. Not just in game development but generally. It's the biggest reason for layoffs today. It

This is completely legitimate and of enough people do as you do, Google will act. But clearly there's not enough people like that. Always vote with your wallet.

Everyone knows the stats are false but I don't know an alternative. I've been unemployed after graduating for a year and because I didn't use unemployment benefits I didn't show up in the statistics in switzerland. I kno

I work with logistics automation software. Most PLCs I've worked with are legacy and don't even support TLS. Doesn't surprise me at all. I honestly am baffled how old some of these sites are and never got a security upgrade.

You would be naive to expect anything else. Corporations only exist to make profit. They will never take an action that risks that. Some people, for some inexplicable reason, believe that companies like Google who often voice support for le

The academic writing standard is the most obtuse and painful way of writing I have ever done. I would use AI for that as well.

Von Mises Fischer Distribution basically just changes the direction of a hypervector where the angle from the original is basically gaussian distributed. The post is completely illegible.

Once again *I* didn't design and of it. Leftists don't like hearing that. The fix would be obviously to control and limit foreign workers by regulating companies.

What makes it disingenuous is you're using past data to make statements about the current situation. Of course the West / US produced the most Co2 overall, because it's been through industrialization. What matters now is the

This whole discussion is the reason innovation it's dead in Europe. The regulations are so complex that you need a team dedicated to navigating the bureaucracy nonsense. Small companies and startups can't do that.

The biggest lie we're being told in the west is that we have a hand in climate change. China produces 60% of global Co2. When you look at the graph, Europe isn't even visible. If we truly cared about climate change we would stop b
