FWIW, I used to work at one of the companies mentioned. Tara was a good employee who resigned. She was not fired as Ms. Peatman claims. Its sad that Glassdoor is just another gaslighting outlet on the internet.

Is this because no one likes PayPal? Personally I've been screwed over by PayPal using Etsy when a seller didn't ship. It's since made me hesitant to buy anything there.

Good point. Two companies I know of (Expensify.com and Trap.it) get around this to a certain degree by hosting on multiple vendors. With that they are better able to account for sudden changes to the market if one goes down or drastically
