These aren't dumb people. They know exactly what they're asking for. Privacy and security of the public's data is not a priority to them, surveillance and power is. Politicians would much prefer all communication in plaintext

LibreOffice is fine, but IMO the main appeal of Office is all of the collaborative tools: realtime collaboration on documents, SharePoint/document sharing, OneDrive, Teams integration, etc. How does that work on Linux+LibreOffice?

Learning that is difficult. It is a skill that needs to be worked on by learning maths, then control, dynamics. Instead, learn to use an AI framework and you can solve the problem with orders of magnitude more computing. Not advocating one
