Yes, a yubikey works for when I really need it, but it's enough friction to take out out and plug in that it's just annoying enough.

But passkeys are not supported natively (i.e. without a USB key or other shenanigans) by Firefox on Linux, as there is no place to store them. I do have a USB key, but it's annoying enough that I don't like passkeys if I can avoid

Don't they ship a propetietary clang variant with weirdass version numbers? That was true at least at some point. Fortunately most Mac users on my experiments have given up attempting to compile any code in their Macs after SIP etc mad

For instructions you really care about, yes of course you review the assembly output! Usually when you're doing SIMD or want to check atomics are doing what you expect.

RFSoCs seem like extreme overkill for this frequency range, though since Xiphos makes a space-grade one, it's not so unreasonable I guess. Alas, I'm working on a competing project that I won't go into detail about :).

json's only advantage is it's easier to write by hand, but that's not really a consideration here. XML has schema support and much more tooling available.
