   Actually the law cares only about tracking not cookies. And there are a lot of ways to track users even without cookies.

   I don't think the law specifies to use cookies to disable cookies and it's a good thing - lawmakers shouldn't care about technological solutions.

   Or how about Google making a form of Adsense that doesn't track users? I somehow have a feeling that large corporations intentionally are trying to make this law ridiculous. E.g. why blogspot pages would need such warnings? Please Goog

   I think law is fine and there should be only a handful of sites in the Internet that would need such warnings. Problem is the abuse of technology to track users.

   Actually I can't even imagine handing cash directly to someone - this kind of seems rude to me. It would be even worse if the note was folded. Doing this also might involve hand contact (which again might make someone uncomfortable). (

    Adding to this - most privacy/adblock plugins also block analytics. So I really have to doubt that Google Analytics is of much value.

    The problem is not that they are doing this, but that they can. This is a technology problem and it will not be fixed by shaming offenders (GoGo probably didn't have any evil intentions at all).

    Amazon product pages already have Facebook tracker embedded, so Facebook knows what you are looking at. No need to provide your phone number.

    Entering a fake name doesn't really help. If one of your relatives also orders the kit, your name can easily be found out.
