GNOME applications look so... mobile. Large controls, large title bars that lack maximize/minimize, simplistic layouts. It might be good for this kind of frontend apps but I can't see software like Krita or KDEnlive being done for

AFAIK you don't need to install emacs on Windows, you just can unzip the binaries you can download on the official website on any folder, even your desktop, and run the EXE file on the \bin folder, without the need of admin privilege

At this point it seems M1 Macs have better Linux/other unixes support than Intel Macs with a T2 chip. At least from my experience and what I’m seeing with Asahi Linux.

You can still use jQuery or plain vanilla HTML+CSS+JavaScript, and you still have access to any web technology out there. Websites written in 1999 will continue to render perfectly. Nobody will deprecate WebGL for example. Nobody forces you
