Article does not compare costs with DaaS offerings like Amazon’s RDS, instead comparing EC2 hosting costs for a database. For me, that made the read pointless.

You can receive payments using your individual social on PayPal I believe. I don't know if that opens up their checkout and subscription APIs though. It's a bit of unique test case, so if PayPal and Stripe don't work for you,

It sounds too complicated for me to use. I’d prefer to use something I know the user already has setup. Other solutions would be Patreon, Venmo, Zelle, or the Buy me a coffee button on some OSS repositories.
