Sounds like what I see when I press my fingers (gently) onto my closed eyelids. I think it's the different layers of the visual cortex trying to find edges/patterns in something that doesn't have any.

wow, it looks like the answer rate is going down significantly. It looks like it slipped a bit in 2014/2015 but there's a big decrease in 2019 around the time of the Monica Cellio incident.

That makes sense and is a valid reason to allow removing 2FA without having your (lost) 2FA. However there's still the fact that there was no notification that it was removed.
