I actually have put that firmware on a MR2600, and it boots, not so sure about working well though. Screwing with OpenWRT and a vague sense it has a twin were my only memories of it. I had to retrace my own research from 4 years ago to come

Microsoft has the OpenCL, OpenGL, Vulkan compatibility pack. Major issue is that it's just Mesa compiled to a D3D12 GPU backend, so if you have anything but Snapdragon it's basically useless.

My understanding with Mesa is that it has very few dependencies and is ABI stable, so freezing Mesa updates is counterproductive. I'm not sure about Snaps, but Flatpak ships as it's own system managing Mesa versions.
