This sounds like a step down for both openai and sama. Microsoft probably wins here as they still have access to openai tech and now the only entity with access to the same talent pool as was there before last Friday.

I think the omission of usb3 is because of the reuse the Apple silicon from last year which doesn’t have the builtin usb3 IP. Let’s wait for next year’s non-pro models to see if they are really cheapening out.

Some OS’s zram compress the unpinned pages instead of swapping to disk. It might be faster than fetching the pages again from disk. I wonder if this is a reason why folks see different results.

Here in India, I have found that just casually asking for a discount will instantly get you a small discount in a lot cases. You just need to look not excited at the product and politely ask if there is a discount. Or at least if they can

Maybe because bluetooth is stuck with 2.4ghz band. So when you move the noisy wifi out of this band, bluetooth gets extra bandwidth to transfer higher quality audio.

I wonder if we put AI in a humanoid form, it may find a more efficient form of movement with limbs which look very odd to us. Then we need to put some hacks or artificial constraints to make it behave similar to a human.

How about randomising/reset these bits from kernel whenever there is a syscall? Not a great workaround but this should limit the effectiveness of leaking. Yeah, there will be tiny perf hit due to extra register read and write.

GPU is actually relatively easier to scale by adding more cores/ALUs. The difficulty lies in figuring out how to handle peak current requirement of the whole IP.
