  The network is the people, the platform is the tech. Which do you need? If you're engaging in discussions you need the network. If you're reading municipal weather warnings you don't really, it's just a data source that can be copied anywhere.

    Probably where twitter is going honestly. Not unlike MySpace pivot to music and Facebook being used exclusively for Messenger
