The internet isn’t the web/social media. People don’t complain about roads & gutters because there’s idiots on them that drive. Idiots that drive get the deserved blame. Words matter. The internet rocks but social media sucks, apps

>It's really a great life ain't it? Yes, there’s no complaints from me :) Spent 4 months camping and now I’m still camping but fixing a property. I’ll do something for money next year, who knows, I might find a good programming

Saved, bought assets, saved & paid off debt, sold assets. My home town had super undervalued real estate for roughly a decade prior to 2023/4. I bought another stinker of a property nobody wanted. I’d save and look for under valued

I can’t tell if you’re serious or not. Cultivated land has value, someone will pay for it.

UO is still active on the free shards. Second Age shard staying alive for 20 years. Outlands is way more popular but it’s also not really UO.

I’d just do your best to keep extra of stuff you know you’ll eat, you know the old two is one and one is none. Grab 2 packs of dried pasta instead of 1 for example. Rice. Beans. Canned stuff like veggies, fish, even the little single serve

Absolutely opposite experience. People do not shut up about it once they’ve tried it, and come up with all sorts of whacky use cases for it. Best friend suggested I ask ChatGPT whether it’s cheaper to renovate or knock down a house I bought

Viva la revolution! Serious question - what do you do for fun? I find fishing with friends enjoyable, and using my hands tidying up the old place I bought. It’s not innovating software I’ll never use but I’ll never tire of writing the sam

The only insanity is the multiples applied to select people’s equity. Everyone is talking about contracted revenue like it’s money in the bank.

6 deep is some rookie numbers, get those indent levels up. I actually have no problem with most the code in one file vs. lots of little files. That said right click "Go to definition" is a lovely feature in VS.

Accountants get to charge high rates largely because good advice saves their customers large amounts of tax. When we're talking tax accountants of course. There's all sorts of accountants though - audit, management, forensic etc.

I find the contrary about a comparison to religious fervour. That everyone needs to use it, or feel the same way the adherents do is telling.

There’s not even a monetary reward like there might’ve been for the crypto hype cycle if you bought early and sold before everyone else.

Lots of people are just asking their favourite LLM to rewrite an existing app/library because I’m more productive after spending 3 months writing custom software vs spending 2 hours reading docs and using existing software to achieve
