Google Takeout is good insurance. I backup my full google dataset every 6 months or so.
When Google AI blocks an account, why don't they offer a window of using Google Takeout to get a .zip of all their stuff?
- the_snooze 5y agoGiven the siloed disjointed nature of various Google products, it's probably because the security and Takeout teams don't care to deal with with one another.
- javagram 5y agoIt’s unlikely they’d want to let someone accused of “terrorist activity” download their data, since if it was actually a terrorist some future investigation would probably blame them for materially supporting terrorism which is illegal.

- JohnHaugeland 5y agowhether or not that is true is not an issue of due process due process is "the state isn't allowed to do things to you unless they're in the law" so like, a king would just make up criminal punishments. oh, you stole a painting? four years. THE PAINTING OF MY MOM? THIRTY YEARS, NO, FORTY. because of due process, that isn't legal here due process only applies to the application of the law, by the state

- Gigachad 5y agoI have been doing a takeout every month. Do you really want to lose 6 months worth of files in a disaster?
