I have no issues w public schools offering advanced engineering, calculus, Latin, and other uncommon languages the many thousand students in the school system will give them an opportunity to have these classes for highly advanced students.

The economies of scale will still allow specialized classes for those qualified in the public system. A special program to tell people they are special is probably not the investment needed at this time.

I really like reading him. I do wish is posts were a lot shorter. I get tired of all the 60/40 percent forecasts that have enough wiggle room the forecaster never thinks he is wrong. I certainly dont get that from Ed!

There is the old joke that 87 percent of all statistics is made up on the spot. I’ve told it many times but a fair amount of people seemed to believe it hook, line, and sinker.

In the 1980s I had purchased a book of integrals. The very first integral that I looked up in a work related professional manner was in error. My co-worker, mathematician, convinced me to throw out the book.

Yes, I’m running out of websites that I value enough to spend my time. I have a large list for weekly and monthly reviews. I walk thru them periodically but the lists are rapidly diminishing in size

I should add one more. Last year, I picked up a physical mail delivery of the financial times. 52x6 issues a year for $99. I had to poke around to find the offer. I felt lucky finding it. But the font is so small - I gave it up.
