Something that has been useful for me was making the Google account with random credentials (name, age, etc.). This way, at least they're tracking a non-existent person.

I wish there was local groups or meetups with people to talk about and maybe even potentially contribute to this effort. I kind of feel this way in general about science. I'd love to go somewhere after work and experiment in labs.

The real trick is breaking your goals down as small as possible. Then accomplishing those tasks building up to your ultimate goal. Most people fail or get frustrated/give-up because they define their goals in terms of end goals.
