I'm co-creator of mailosaur.com We added both the SMTP option and wildcard email address suffix for this reason - Some people want to use SMTP to catch all, others prefer specific email addresses (e.g. One per test run)

I completely agree. One of the main things I like about HN's simplistic style, is that within a few seconds I can scan a dozen or so entries and filter out what I'm going to look through.

We use C#, but by the looks of things it should be a pretty straight forward sample to knock-out for the common languages: C#, Java, node, Ruby, Python (possibly PHP to keep everyone happy!) :)

I like the concept of this; we've had a similar problem in the past and tried to build an in-house solution which kind of worked; but we ended up wasting a bunch of time on it. Your site could really do with some code samples though -
