This is really nice of you. Gonna take this opportunity to ask: anybody know of some good things to do in San Francisco on Christmas day? I'm coming to visit and will be alone for the most part.

It's not my country, you assumptive douche. The author was rejected from entering the USA on arguably questionable, but still legal terms. Based on his account, I'm forced to believe he acted appropriately, and therefore I feel ba

Cultural isolation defines me as a person. So no problems there. How did you like Ukraine? Where were you based? Was it cheap and comparable to Thailand for a place to bootstrap in?

Perhaps the most astute observation in here. Lost count the number of times I've missed the 'the next big thing' when it was right in my face. Each time I tell myself that I'll pay more attention next time. But we all kn

I love that company. But I just don't see a future where it keeps its doors open. Especially now with Google and Apple joining in.

My monthly take home amounts to about £1600. I live in a really nice shared flat on the edge of Zone 1/2 (Shoreditch) which costs £700 inc. utilities. I don't have a monthly pass, I top up my Oyster card with £20 every month or so

Thank you for a very honest breakdown. I have lived an equal amount of my life in both London and NJ, and am a citizen of US and UK, so visas aren't my problem. "Abroad" would be neither of the two, unfortunately. I haven

Absolutely looking for advice, so thank you for your honesty. I'm doing fine on my pittance living in the center of London. Perhaps it's due to my spending habits, but I hope this fact stays true if I move to SF. I am assured that

I hold dual UK/US nationality, but the healthcare system does concern me. I hear changes are coming next month? Also, the SF startup will subsidize personal health plans.

I can't decide if it's a general aversion to public complaining, or if this company is really as arrogant and self important as this article made them out to be. In fact, after the thuggish threats, I'm pretty sure it's

Good bunch of guys, and they're helping me add backend development to my skillset. That's how I look at it. Don't care much for equity.

Currently way out in the boondocks (zone 8). I'm looking to move into Zone 2/3 East London (Shoreditch/Bethnal Green area) to be closer to work. There are quite a few flat shares available for £500-600 pcm, which is my budget. That leaves m

Why is this the case? I'm a frontend dev for a startup in London and I make 18k annually (80% of that because I only work 4 days a week). It's peanuts, but luckily I don't mind being poor.

I use phantomjs to login to my bank's website and grab my balance for me. Unfortunately my bank decided to outsource their web operation to the cheapest bidder from India and as a result their web application is beyond shit. It requires jav

Bullshit, whatever happened to the Gmail Infinity+1 promise? Remember that counter that promised ever increasing gmail storage? This move seems to contradict that goal.

Most beautiful sites can. This one does not. Those icons are confusing. Click expand to see the whole list together. What a mess! Ideally they should be using glyphs with much bolder lines, or if they're really set on using the current ones

This pretense permeates American culture and it's one of the things that really gets to me, because my personality is very somber by nature. I talk to everybody as I would a close friend or neighbor, and this includes potential employers. I

I too am nostalgic about my Napster days. But if what others are saying is true, that either YouTube or Napster will come after you, I think you could've been a bit smarter about this. Also, have you considered using the Grooveshark API?
