Same here (also Germany). Worse yet, even if a german broadcaster was offering it, chances are you would only be able to get it dubbed in Germany without the option to switch to the original language.

no? Most distributions transitioned to either gnome 3 or unity from gnome 2, not just ubuntu. And yes, Gnome 3 was part of the reason why I considered and in the end switched to OS X for my main machine (from Gentoo).

Very unfortunate title imho, since minimising windows can be accomplished by far easier methods (the button in the menu or pressing command+M for instance).

That's actually what kind of happened to me with MP3-Players. "Mhm, I could buy an iPod Nano for ~150 or this whatever-brand with more space for ~100. Two months later I got the iPod Classic, best decision ever."

While I agree that mediocre can be "good enough" (e.g. I don't see any reason to buy high end headphones, when I am perfectly happy with ~150 Euro ones), I think this should always be a decision made consciously, not one born out of stupidi

To the unschooled eye that hasn't seen Gnome since 3.0, this looks just as ugly as it did when it was released.

Chrome's Webstore[1] is even uglier imho, but yeah as far as package managers go I wouldn't want to use it to be honest. The whole Windows 8 style on XP doesn't help either. [1] https://chrome.google.com/webstore?hl=en-US

I did that and it is actually incredibly easy to get used to (within a couple of hours). The bigger thing you have to get used to -- and which I suspect most will struggle with -- is not moving around when in insert mode.

I kind of disagree. I think there would have been better ways to present a design. For startes it would have been nice to know why specific decisions were made instead of just "we thought it was prettier". Maybe usability studies, A/B test

I agree, even as a submitter I'd rather people would comment -- even if it's just to criticise -- than if everybody is too polite to say anything. This way, I think everybody can profit from it.

Safari's expanding download button is a lot better than the download bar. Ideally I'd prefer it if you could just disable it and it would open the download window in a background tab instead.
