I feel this. Recently _some_ company, I have no idea which, has decided my IP is malicious and refuses to serve my requests. This has effectively banned me from a few websites, including a government service I pay taxes for.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit I don't know what RPZ, PTR, or SPF are, nor do I understand the asides about AI or reverse DNS. What precisely is his problem with Amazon?

Similarly I find I sometimes enjoy listening to the radio more than Spotify because I don't feel forced to min/max my enjoyment. I have to listen to whatever is on.

I tried getting into OSRS a few weeks ago. I noticed the official Jagex client doesn't run on Linux, so I installed RuneLite. However Jagex recently mandated the transition of email/password logins to a fancy proprietary OAuthy th

I've seen Futhark on the front page a few times recently, has there been a resurgence of interest for some reason? Exciting if so. I think it's a cool language

Fortunately Debian maintainers have a fantastic track record of writing ad-hoc patches for security-sensitive software.

I dislike that people interpret this adage being violated as an example of English's inconsistency. The clearer conclusion is that it just isn't true. I could say "every word in English starts with ß" and then point out

The communities are generally significantly smaller but yes. Двач, 8chan, lain, and sharty come to mind. They're rarely "nice" places though (lain is fairly pleasant).

Yeah, Canonical asks you how you performed in your high school English class as if that's something you're supposed to know. Is that really a valuable metric for a software engineer?

Not only did they choose to make their website worse for money, doing so encourages Google to continue doing this. This all coming from "an anticapitalist tech blog" humoured me a little.

Testing multiple DEs would be great but I think there's merit to calling Plasma more Linux-y (or hacker-y?) than GNOME.

Yeah - while I've never dived too deeply, I have modded my 3DS a fair bit and didn't know what the OS was codenamed. I've always just seen it called 3DS OS, native firm, etc.

I have a thing to sell you, it's only $50 and you'll definitely like it; it's great. I won't tell you what it is though - I'm not here to hold your hand.

I must admit I'm honestly not impressed with my Framework. I'm sure it's decent for a Windows laptop - the repairability alone is certainly enough to set it apart there - but coming from a MacBook, everything's just.. wo
