They own most fax brands. And allegedly sue (unless you settle) virtually every electronic fax provider for patent infringement. Source: Used to work for, then own a fax brand many years ago.

Even if you incorporate in say Delaware, if you are physically present running your business in New York you must register your LLC there (Authority to Transact Business) which comes with the same requirements.

Might I make one suggestion: Make sure your SSH port is below 1024 (but still not 22). Reason being if your Linode is ever compromised a bad user may be able to crash sshd and run their own rogue sshd as a non root user since your original
