We use self-hosted GitLab at work. It’s really a pleasure to use, everything works the way it feels like it should. The main downside is the system resource requirements are absurd considering at any given time there’s only 1-2 people using

I agree and don’t use any of that stuff—-except syntax highlighting. Why wouldn’t you? Color is a whole extra dimension it adds to the code that lets the eye notice errors more quickly and jump around faster.

Unpopular opinion apparently: I love it. I’ve been using it since beta 1 and it’s grown on me enormously. iOS 18 on my work iPhone felt incredibly dated and I was relieved when we could finally upgrade enterprise devices.

Some of us are forced to use it because Red Hat removed support for KDE. Being forced to switch from KDE to Gnome was a very painful transition. Having the Dash to Panel and Dash to Dock extensions was the only thing that made it palatable.

If I make it to a full year I'll at least feel like maintaining the streak as long as I did was in service of a specific milestone goal. After a year the milestones become less meaningful (400 days? 500? 700? meh) yet harder and harder
