I updated my LG C5 firmware via USB and my Nintendo Switch 2 now says “Switch 2” on the home page instead of “Unknown Device”. So that’s nice I guess. Also it seemed to fix something with the 120hz HDR 10:10:10 signal when connected to my P

I think there are plenty of people that like Elon Musk. They just know to keep their mouth shut in front of the people that act like he’s the Antichrist.

It’s even weirder that the local models have anti jailbreak training. I tried to use Qwen, run totally locally, to help me set up Sonarr and Radarr and while it’d do that it flat out refused to help me get some movies. It got really catty a

Coraline is a claymation movie made by hand, and Wildwood is coming out. But it’s because a cofounder of Nike loves stop motion animation. Despite critical acclaim these movies don’t make money. Just like we don’t have masterwork marble scu

I must have been one of the last ones to get it because I managed to snag two bankable resets. Already reset once after having it clear up geometry in Blender, but it did a fantastic job!

They haven’t activated Astra for me yet, I have two resets now. I’ve been using the opportunity to test out how good 5.6 Sol is at computer use asking it to generate stuff in Blender which has been… interesting Edit: nevermind it JUST gave

I love the photo where assumably everyone involved is posing and smiling and the old guy wearing a high vis vest mean mugging the camera. I bet he’s the one who actually installed the new elevator, or at least the foreman for the work.

Parent already responded but just for reference an RTX 5090 with Ninfer hits 160 tokens/second with qwen 3.8 27B which is very usable.

Yeah it made my day when I’d pop some T3 cruiser gang in wormhole space with my buddies. It was substantially less fun when I was on the other side of that and got scanned down in my officer fit Archon and popped. Finally I said to myself “

As someone who really no life fit and played WoW, Dwarf Fortress, and EVE in my 20s, you didn’t miss much. My most momentous EVE achievement was betraying my online “friends” who had mostly stopped playing, blowing up all their expensive sh

Ninfer is the real deal. 160 tokens/sec. You can parallelize 4 chats at once and get ~400 tokens/sec I’ve heard. Although that just compounds the context size issue, still absolutely incredible for running locally. I made a web ba

Thanks so much for sharing this! I went looking for what I’d call modern “masterwork” statues a year or so ago and had come to this exact same conclusion. Glad that other people are noticing!

What’s funny is before the 50s and 60s everyone knew you should cover up and women wore bonnets. That too much sun was bad for you. Laura Ingalls Wilder of Little House fame (I mention this a lot as I read these to my children as an adult,

This mindset is so strange to me. Destroying books is anathema? These are niche subjects for books that may only have a few copies in the world. This knowledge should be digitized so it can be available and shared for thousands of years. Be

If all hell breaks loose wouldn’t the US just say “screw you we aren’t paying” and utilize the largest military (by far) in the world to keep the goods flowing? Some version of that seems far more likely than UBI does. I’m not saying this w
