Only way to stop this is to make it so they make no money from doing it and also make it really uncomfortable for their execs. If they feel the blow back personally they will stop doing it.

Don't most editors have snippets for this?

I have a low tolerance for bs like this. I usually articulate why its bs to my manager to give them a chance to fix it and if they are unwilling to i get a new job. No point in staying to deal with that kind of bs, life is short.

I always give the same feedback for this type of bs. Actions speak louder than words. If you have to tell people how great a company's culture is it clearly isn't.

I am happy to hopefully see the decline of amp. Remeber this is not all happening in a vacuum. Remeber google has been pushing to do things like remove the url bar from browsers too. It is pretty obvious what the end game is.

This type of crap is why I stopped using windows and macos. I don't want my security to be compromised because of some idiot in a suit making a bad call.

It is because of user namespaces. I assume you can tell firejail to use seperate ones with some commandline switches.

I usually just create a mail rule that sends their email to other email addresses at the company if they make it hard to unsubscribe.

Well if you want to stop vpn services stop doing region locked content. In this day and age region locking isn't really feasible. Vpns are a solution to your crapy business practice not a problem.

I hate AMP. It is just a tech to give google more control. Anything to helps kill it off is a good thing. It is possible to create pages that load fast on mobile without it.

This type of dark pattern needs to stop. Pushing your browser this hard is just going to piss your users off to the point they are going to avoid your product. I actively switch people away from edge now because of this bs.

Its often cheaper to hire a few devs to work on opensource projects your company relies on than pay for some proprietary software. Also allows you to retain control too.

Way i see it is there are 2 camps of people when it comes to desktop computing. There are most regular people who just see it as a tool and want it to let them do what they want without having to put much thought into it. They will have var

This is why I try to get drm free ebooks when possible or at least breakable drm. I like paying for it so the author gets paid but i don't want some 3rd party being able to revoke my access.

Regardless of being out at sea for 14 days. If the border is closed you can't enter the country. Just because you arrive in a boat by yourself doesn't change this.

The problem with saying change something if it offends someone is that is open to abuse. Are you going to remove something that speaks out about a government killing its own citizens because that government finds it offensive? That would b

Yeah that was me. If I can get enough people to use them I will get enough spirit energy to be able to buy a magic sword off a ghost. Then with the sword I can fight the magic photocopier to get the pendant to open the door....

Looks like a case of looking for things to be offended by to me. I also should remind you Linus is head of a opensource project not a corporate division so he has no need to act "professional" at all.
