Not directly a mentor but maybe a study group helps? Have you done some internet courses on some topics? Maybe try to connect to the professors. They might have good students that can help you out. I think finding a mentor for coding stuff

I agree and would say that normally dispatch comes in handy for things like `+`, `length` and of course your own functions where the meaning is the same but the implementation must be different depending on the type.

First of all! Nice post :) Just some random things: The first paragraph needs some commas, I think. In the first code block you probably want to have `print(variable_x)`
