Is it possible to use Bitcoin or a bitcoin-like system to create listings in a decentralized manner? Maybe with Namecoin? I worry that these types of sites centralize the marketplace in one easy-to-attack location.

The number on this site refers to the profile picture. Some people have multiple profile pictures over time, and some have deleted their account, etc. Example: Zuck is 1 on this page but his FBID is 4.

I would be careful before trying this. I don't know much about crypto, but you might be able to do some interesting statistical attacks if you are encrypting the same plaintext with multiple keys.
