I believe you are most likely right. I spoke with the teller at the bank and they said this happens most often with trying to cash bad checks. Mine is not that because I have never done that. My best guess with little evidence is some kind

Yes, they are sent regularly. I have a rental apartment that the tenant has been depositing rent into for about 4-5 years. It's only really used for that purpose.
