It's not about subsidizing, but about support for projects they deem important. Gnome is just one of many projects. And they have to apply for funding. It's not simply given to some projects. I'm from germany and use Gnome. S

We put it in trash bins. Companies with contracts collect it. It get's shipped to asia or africa for recycling. Job done. Recycled ... It is dumped where ever it is convinient for the contracting company But I totaly undersand your p

YouTube already does exatly this for me. If uBlock origin is active it loads the base site, but all video tiles are just grey squares and the video titles below are just grey bars.

It's Förderung, not Forderung. Two totally different words. Forderung: demand, requirement Förderung: financial support (what you mean) I guess the price spikes happen because demand spikes in these situations..
