If you're talking about listed stocks and such, then the licensing caveat I mentioned, so only some firms will be willing to take you, especially since US tax and securities laws are particularly strict. Easiest is going through a US-b

I moved back to the USA from London a few years ago. Main motivations similar to yours - also got tired of feeling like a foreigner all the time and not feeling like I fit into the society. Brexit added to my motivation - over my time there
