I doubt this, but hear me out for the reason: I worked on a Elektron MachineDrum firmware fix that corrected the MIDI jittering due to incorrect ISR configuration. MD itself is pretty tight already with its RTOS but the fix brought it down

Note, this is not all about EQ. A lot of other techniques are also used, e.g. limiter, exciter (to shift the energy from mid to low), and some psychological tricks to make you believe it's making a fat bass sound, etc.

It failed once recently after an system update. Blank desktop with no shell. Had to ctrl-shift-esc and manually download latest `ep_setup.exe` and run it to get the desktop back. https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing&#x

Yep Talisman! I received a shareware copy of it on a magazine CD. Totally blown away by the true color UI and pre-arranged widget bits here and there. The thing's born in the 9X era but rocks a definite XP vibe.

It's that off-by-one nature of intervals that always bumps me. The difference between note a and b is (a-b+1). Calling an octave "an octave" feels to me like calling a numeric system with digits 0x0-0xf as "base 17"

One particular problem of M+N is that it requires LSP to cover all the wanted features provided by server and supported by client. This is not always the case for existing servers. Semantic highlighting wasn't in the protocol until 3.0

Actually if you have cat5 or cat6 base-T setup, you can get second hand dual port 10gbe pcie cards for 30 dollars each(!) 10GbE baseT switches are more expensive than fiber equivalent though.
