I never smoked and still doing that sometimes. Think it's just a habit and it has nothing to do with engeneers. My dad does it too, but isn't an engeneer.

I find it interesting that we have some homeless people even in Germany, where social payments exist by law and (evidently almost) everyone in need would get some money for living and even payed the rent of a home. --edited syntax

Jep, you are absolutely right. If you type everything for yourself you remember and understand everything a notch better too. If you just copy & paste you won't really look at the code...

Part of the problem is that humans tend to focus on negative things. If you make something wrong, theres always some person there to point his finger at you, if you make something great, you don't always getting praise for it. It's the same

I think games like Minecraft have shown us that grafics is not the most important aspect of a game. Can't imagine a Diablo3 with this grafics would be a game for me, sorry.

It's the same with other games and especialy dvd/Blurays. Even with extra shipping cost you normaly have to pay less than on amazon.de. Never quite understood why, but I order a lot over uk since I know that.
