Make it functional and ugly, your audience will follow if the idea and code is good. Having it be pretty should be a secondary goal. Once you get real numbers, hire a UI designer.

I am the guy you're looking for. I've rarely found people like me. It is a tough card to fill. You want a designer that codes on dialup. They're visual, understand the nuts an bolts of the design, and make it tiny so it downloads fast.

It's a rehash of other established ideas: Get a bunch of people to do it, call yourself a college. Use the credentials of your teaching staff to raise the rates you charge 'students', you have a university. Who's to say who is the 'expert'
