I don't disagree. The ideal state here is really layers of customation for the defaults. Options like reject all, or strictly necessary would be at the forefront. And then it's really up to the individual how they want to proceed

It really does feel like leaders in large organizations are lost on the valuable metrics when it comes to code in general. The mantra seems to often be, make number go higher - regardless of if it's valuable data or not.

Everytually there needs to be a stronger enforcement of "right model for the task". The landscape currently lends itself to flexibility. And people tend to lean on the more costly options expecting a better end result.

At the same time, we seem to be making rapid progress year over year in capability. Competition is keeping things progressing forward at an interesting pace. It will be interesting to see what we are actually capable of 5 years from now...

Google does have a positional advantage in Android and Apple picking up Gemini as the baked-in AI assistant. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact that has in their services and profitability for AI.

They are not without their faults. But it's hard to deny that self driving cars enable a much safer space for us to live. It would be great to see an open framework for the cars to become aware of each other, self driving or not.
