100% also, why do you need to buy a house in the first place?

Agreed. A date = two people spending some time getting to know each other to see if there is romantic (or sexual) compatibility. Don't need to read to far into it.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't see how that's the employer's problem. This risk is ALWAYS there when taking on a new job. Fire fast doesn't really mean one week either, but it can be evident in t

Hire fast / fire fast has worked for some relatively lean teams that I've been on, but I can see it being hard to implement at mid-size and bigger companies where there's all kinds of red tape.

Ah, yes I don't disagree. IMO, I don't think the use case for crypto is to replace fiat, but I can see how those that operate from that assumption/desire would experience friction.

I don't see how this relates to my comment above at all.

Correct, there is no point in holding crypto on an exchange. If you hold your own crypto, you don't have this problem.

I'm a tech expert that wants to urge Washington to embrace crypto. Who wants to write a letter with me?

IMO, I think the way he was publicly lambasted and fired was punishment enough. Not to mention that shortly after, people were calling for him to return to OpenSea, because they were struggling without him for a hot minute. I agree what he

Not really, they're making an example out of some guy that made an opportunistic bad decision, but meanwhile there are criminals defrauding people of a lot of money in the NFT space and are allowed to operate in the open.

You've stayed several years at your first tech job, which is longer than most folks last. This is good. It's time to move on.

The cheapest Tesla, while expensive for what it is, is not that much more expensive than any other mid-range car. Is it really a status symbol?

I wonder if a bunch of folks in the last 2 years bit off more than they can chew by getting expensive houses.

With any given thing there are going to be lot's of people that lose money. Don't VC's lose on the majority of their bets to begin with?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Also, cost of doing business goes up because and margins go down due to ransom payments that fall through the cracks, so according to the laws of capitalism -> ransom payments go up.

If crypto disappears today, ransoms will still be prevalent, but will be much higher as they will be more difficult to pay. It's not a new incentive at all, it just opened up the ease of payment.

In other words, "code is law" only if it complies within the existing framework of our laws. IMO, this still leaves a lot of room for creative applications of smart contracts.

"Code is law" is a dream that is not actualized. It's not actually law, it's just code. I'm pretty sure law enforcement will gladly prosecute for a lot of these "hacks".
