If a battery can do 1000 cycles and remain above 80% capacity it is exempt from this, which is exactly what Apple implemented a few years ago. Low cost phones will be most affected.

You can just ping your CPU usage to the menu bar and monitor that. I have CPU and total system wattage up there so I always know if something weird is going on. https://github.com/exelban/stats

Apple purchased Palo Alto Semi which made the biggest difference. One of their best acquisitions ever in my opinion… not that they make all that many of those anyway.

I don’t know why everyone is concerned about the top end of the these batteries when we should be limiting depth of discharge instead, which causes way more damage than charging to 100%. There should be an option for the machine to pretend
