Exactly. We got a mail from our car insurance provider saying they did not receive payment and asked to send the payment to some random address. This could be social engineering or it could be genuine. We are careful so we will contact the

I am sad to see these negative events as someone who was in the openstack community. But I think a lot of folks knew such stuff was going to happen. I think the mistakes made were: 1) the so-called big tent approach 2) too much complexity 3

I'm glad your algorithm class covered this. Mine did not. It surely covered some other obscure material that you don't know. You are missing the point. If we had a standard CS curriculum, you can fault people for missing out on st

Hmm .. Mountain View is an interesting example. The area near whishman park has no grocery stores or restaurants. I ran into an old timer in an Uber recently and he mentioned people did some of this zoning on purpose .. I.e. the need for a

You know .. this is a quirky but interesting idea. PG started YC because of his experiences/challenges as a tech founder. Maybe someone can address this niche. Obviously, the funding terms would be different. There are legal issues hav

I'm a SW guy .. been mulling getting a job in hw at some point. I watch a lot of YouTube and do hw projects in my spare time. Is there something like sw boot camps for developing hw skills? I'm almost considering getting an ee bac

QQ .. this might be a naive question so please excuse my ignorance ... why did you not go with vanilla websockets as the protocol? I am a big fan of Elixir and would love to use it and Phoenix for work .. coworkers just get the heebeejeebee

My last interview at Google .. the interviewer behaved like a prick. His attitude was .. oh .. u have a PhD ... let me show you how much smarter I am than you. This was very clear from the first 2 minutes of the interview. What is funny is

I was thinking 1 on 1 tutoring. There are already a lot of video resources out there. I wouldn't mind 30-50 bucks an hour for a consultation. Sort of like a fitness trainer for my electronics hobby.

This seems to be a non-issue IMHO. If they try to attract foreigners ala Startup Chile, they could fill these things up in weeks. If 40% occupied innovation centers is the biggest thing wrong with China, they aren't in bad shape. Btw .
