Please, could you also educate them and tell them that Spain is a country in Europe? It seems that many US-americans believe Spanish is a race (whatever they think a "race" is) instead a nationality.

Mexican Spanish is a dialect in the same way Spanish Spanish or West-Andalucian Spanish... However, all Spanish dialects are Spanish.

Actually, it is more frequently called judeo-español (Jewish-Spanish) in Spain.
