The creator of the Rockstar language was apparently inspired by a tweet he saw. So inspiriaton can come from all sorts of places, but cultivating it into something tangibale is a whole other beast.

Checked his Twitter feed, he talked with a few persons about their gear and how to help with pumps, power etc. So the sub wasn't the only thing he did. And yeah, he probably doesn't have all the domain knowledge needed, but I reck

Isnt that mostly in the US? Here in Norway, you'll get punished if you DON'T help in some way, which can be as little as calling the authorities.

That largely depends on the tasks. Putting down 2km of electrical cable each day is pretty boring, as much of new construction is, but troubleshooting why the ventilation stopped working at a restaurant and fixing it is pretty awesome.
